The 90 Second Gourmet - Fresh Baked Croutons

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Cut each slice of bread into -inch cubes.
In a large saut pan, heat the butter and olive oil. When hot, add the garlic and croutons. When the croutons are well coated, remove from heat and add the cheese, mix well to coat the croutons. This process should only take a minute or two.

Transfer the croutons to a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or with non-stick cooking spray. Spread out into a single layer and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until the croutons become nice and golden brown on all sides, and crispy.

   

* 10 slices of French bread with the crust removed

* 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

* 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

* 3 tablespoons minced garlic

* cup freshly grated Fontina or Reggiano Parmesan cheese
